Listening to the old NBC Sherlock Holmes radio dramas. Hearing Watson portrayed as a bumbling idiot is really depressing.

( I am listening to a lot of radio drama in preparation for writing a radio play adaptation of a novel. The biggest challenge for me is that the audience can't see the action, and if you just describe it to them, you might as well just read them the book. What tricks - er, devices - are used to get around this? )

So this morning a friend of mine asked me to (help) write a radio-play adaptation of Philip K. Dick's Ubik to be performed live with audience participation for the sound effects! I am so excited.
